A Dinner Featuring Wines from the Loire and Languedoc
On Thursday, January 22, 2009 @ 7:30 PM Sirena Restaurant
will be hosting a custom wine dinner in association with The Wine
Concierge. Rick Stevens, an importer of French wines
from these two regions, will be on hand to showcase
his selections for this fabulous dinner.
The wines are small production and hard to find, and Rick
has known the producers for a quite a while. He will be
able to give us a 'behind the scenes' look at the producers
and what they are trying to achieve with their wines.
Sirena Restaurant has gone the extra mile to craft a custom
meal that they do not have on the menu. Additionally, they
have worked with me and Rick Stevens to make the price
very attractive for this dinner. This should be quite the event.
Additionally, should you enjoy these wines, you will be
able to order them that evening below retail pricing. All
in all, this is quite the event.
The price is $85/person that includes all food, wine, tax
and tip. In these tough times, that is a major bargain.

Smoked Salmon Carpaccio
'House cured' salmon, honey crisp apples, beets with horseradish cream
Wine: La Rombarde Pouilly Fume (sauvignon blanc)
2nd Course
Beef Tenderloin
Seared rare, sliced thin, with a tomato, olive, caper, anchovy vinagrette over micro arugula
Wine: Chateau Salitis Cabardes (merlot, grenache, cabernet, syrah)
3rd Course
Veal Osso Bucco
Slow braised veal shank over saffron risotto with procini mushrooms
Wine: Villemaine Le Haut Chesneau L'Exception (cab franc, cot)
4th Course
Duo of Lamb
Grilled sausage and loin with canalinni al fiasco and rosemary glaze
Wine: La Prade Mari Minervois (syrah, grenache)
